Volcano is various in type, including: extinct volcano, dormant volcano and active volcano according to whether they are still active.

Active volcanoes: volcanoes that have erupted in history and are still active.

Extinct volcanoes: volcanoes that have erupted once and never erupted again.  

Dormant volcanoes: volcanoes that have erupted in history, but have been relatively quiet for a long time. Such volcanoes either are in good volcanic form and still have eruption capability, or we cannot conclude that they have lost capacity. Studies have confirmed that the Changbaishan volcano is in a dormant state.
