How did volcanoes form?
date:

views:
At a temperature of about 1500°C, 200 kilometers below the earth's surface, the rocks here are so hot that some of them melt to form magma. Under strong pressure, magma moves upward along the weak zone of underground rocks to the surface and spews out. The magma spewed to the surface condenses to form volcanic rocks and volcanic landforms.
