On April 2nd, the "Kanbula Geological Landscape Resource Protection and Utilization and Research Travel Development and Design Seminar" jointly organized by the Qinghai Provincial Forestry and Grassland Bureau and the Huangnan Prefecture Government was held at the Tibetan Family Courtyard in Kanbula Town.
Qinghai University, Qinghai Normal University, the Kanbula Scenic Area Management Committee, Huangnan Prefecture Forestry and Grassland Bureau, local experts and teachers from the Kanbula Global Geopark Technical Guidance Advisory Group, and Qinghai Xingren Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd. attended the meeting.
This meeting discussed and exchanged ideas on the protection and utilization of geological landscape resources in Kanbula, as well as how to carry out research tours and activities. At the same time, a plaque awarding ceremony was held for the “Kanbula Teaching Practice Base" of Qinghai University and Qinghai Normal University.
With the strong support of the Qinghai Provincial Government, the Qinghai Provincial Forestry and Grassland Bureau, as well as the Huangnan State Committee and Government, and after nearly three years of preparation, it has been selected as one of the UNESCO candidates for the 2022-2023 Global Geopark. And this year, UNESCO experts will conduct on-site inspections and evaluations.
The convening of this seminar aims to apply for the creation of a global geopark in Kanbula, and create a world-class tourism boutique park that integrates scientific research, popular science, culture, and sightseeing; Enhance the image of Huangnan Prefecture in opening up to the outside world and drive local comprehensive development; Improving the connotation and taste of tourism, utilizing geopark to carry out geological tourism and scientific exploration activities, and promoting local economic developent are of great significance.
