Danxia peaks
date: 2022-08-16 views:

They are in Nanzonggou Valley of Kanbula Town, with an elevation of 2263-2938m. The landscape forming strata are the Upper Cretaceous Minhe Formation (K2m), which are composed of gray-red, brown-red thick bedded conglomerate, and sandstone, with brown-red mudstone and silty mudstone as interlayers in upper part. Under the joint action of downcutting along NE an NW-trending joints, collapse, and wind erosion, eighteen Danxia peaks in the shape of cone and pagoda were formed. When sun shines again after rain, the water vapor in Lijiaxia reservoir rises and the fog fills the air, these Danxia Peaks are partly hidden and partly visible, looking like a sacred mountain in a fairland. It is a perfect combination of Danxia landform and sacred religious culture.
