It is in Kanbula Town of Jianzha County, on the upper stream of the Yellow River and was built in December of 2001, with a capacity of 16.5×108m3 and dam height of 175m. The dam crest is 414.39m long and adopts concrete triple center hyperbolic arch dam. The normal water level is 2180m, the total installed capacity is 200×104KW, and the total investment is 9.240 billion yuan. It is the largest double-row hydropower station in the world, the third large-scale hydropower station in the cascade development of the upper Reaches of the Yellow River, and the second largest hydropower station in northwest China. It is mainly for power generation and has the functions of irrigation and flood control. This reservoir is adjacent to Kanbula National Forest Park and Kanbula National Geological Park. It has the momentum of "clear water carries red mountains and dam locks the Yellow River", giving people infinite imagination. Visitors can take a boat trip to enjoy the scenery of the lake and the dam.
