On March 5th, the 10th-anniversary celebration of UNESCO Global Geoparks was successfully held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. The event was attended by the Director-General of UNESCO, the Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences, the Chair of the Global Geoparks Network, the Secretary-General of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Secretariat, the Secretary-General of the International Science Council, and other distinguished guests. They delivered speeches to review the past decade's achievements and to look forward to the future development roadmap.

During the celebration, the 16 new members that joined the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network in 2025 were in the spotlight. Among them, Kanbula Geopark stood out and ranked first among the new additions. Kanbula Geopark garnered international acclaim for its unique geological landscapes, outstanding ecological value, and excellent management and conservation efforts. This recognition is not only an affirmation of the park itself but also provides valuable experience for the development of global geoparks.

Looking ahead, Kanbula Geopark is expected to play a more significant role in global geological conservation and science education. Together with other geoparks, it will contribute to the continuous development of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network.
