On May 12, the 16th national disaster prevention and mitigation Day arrived, to raise the public's awareness and prevention awareness of geological disasters. The Kanbula Geopark Management Committee and the teachers and students of the Geological School jointly launched a popular science activity with the theme of "popularizing the knowledge of earth science, illuminating the way to explore the Earth".The activity selected Xiazangtan Landslide, Gulangdi  and other areas in the geological disaster landslide area as practice locations, which has far-reaching significance for strengthening the education of school teachers and students on disaster prevention and reduction and knowledge of safety production.

During the activity, the students were organized to visit the geological disaster landslide area, observe the landslide phenomenon, and understand the causes, process and impact of the landslide. Geological experts explained the formation principle, early warning method and countermeasures of the landslide.
