Recently, during summer research, the official website of UNESCO announced that Qinghai Kanbula Geopark has successfully completed the international application process for UNESCO Global Geopark, and has been selected as one of the 17 global Geopark candidates for 2021-2022, ranking third. It has also entered the official evaluation process of UNESCO. Geoparks have witnessed the great changes that have occurred on Earth over 4.6 billion years. On the occasion of the successful selection of Qinghai Kanbula as a candidate for 17 global geoparks in 2022, in order to fully utilize the science popularization education function of the world geoparks, attract the public to understand Earth science knowledge, and assist young people in healthy growth, starting from July, Qinghai Kanbula and Fujian Longyan national geoparks (candidate global geoparks), as well as Guangdong Danxia Mountain, Zhejiang Yandang Mountain, Hunan Zhangjiajie, Shandong Yimeng Mountain 20 Chinese global geoparks, including Mount Huangshan in Anhui Province, Wudalianchi in Heilongjiang Province, Xiangxi in Hunan Province, Mount Sanqing in Jiangxi Province, Dunhuang in Gansu Province, Leye Fengshan in Guangxi Province, Stone Forest in Yunnan Province, Lushan Mountain in Jiangxi Province, Funiu Mountain in Henan Province, Dabie Mountain in Huanggang in Hubei Province, Shennongjia in Hubei Province, Tianzhu Mountain in Anhui Province, Taining in Fujian Province, Yuntai Mountain in Henan Province, jointly launched a series of preferential activities for summer study tours.

This activity is led by the National Geopark Network Center and jointly launched by 20 Geoparks, including Qinghai Kanbula, Yandang Mountain, Danxia Mountain and Mount Sanqing. It will continue in July and August, and some parks will continue until the end of September. Focusing on the group of primary and secondary school students, 20 geological parks will jointly release preferential policies such as ticket reduction and exemption, organize live streaming geological park research and science popularization tours, promote world geological park research products, and carry out natural disaster and safety education activities. During the event, many parks in Qinghai Kanbula, Guangdong Danxia Mountain, Zhejiang Yandang Mountain, Jiangxi Mount Sanqing, Hunan Zhangjiajie, Shandong Yimeng Mountain, Henan Yuntai Mountain, Heilongjiang Wudalianchi, Fujian Taining, Hunan Xiangxi and other places offered free tickets to students in primary and secondary schools. All of them offered free tickets or preferential policies to college entrance examinees in 2022, and issued supporting preferential policies such as cruise, cableway, and sightseeing bus in the park. Specific preferential policies shall be subject to the release of WeChat official account and official website information of each geopark.

It is understood that the 20 geoparks participating in this activity are distributed all over the country, including a variety of geological and geomorphological landscapes - Danxia landform, volcanic landform, granite landform, Yadan landform, quartz sand rock peak forest landform, karst landform, etc., covering multiple climatic zones and ecological environments such as tropical, subtropical and temperate zones, as well as colorful cultural elements such as Han, Yi, Yao, Tujia, Miao, Zhuang and Tibetan, Providing high-quality research and learning course experiences for teachers and students, enriching the summer research and learning travel market.
